LARGE FUME EXHAUST PROJECT

Roof Before Roof After
The scope of this project was to increase the effectiveness of their system for exhausting styrene fumes. This was to be accomplished by:

Creating a duct hood system that better captured the fumes at the presses where the fumes were generated.
Installing a new blower to increase the exhaust CFM from 42,000 to 60,000.
Installing a 55,000 CFM make up air system to control the flow of fumes generated outside of the presses and direct them to the low exhaust ports.
Making the system air balanced.

The interior photos are of the drops we made to (44) presses. Each tool had an exhaust connections on the top of the machine and a low exhaust port to capture fumes created outside of the presses. We modified the exhaust trunk line on the roof and then installed a complete new make up air system.

Drops to (44) Presses

Rectangular duct is for the exhaust. Each drop goes to the top of the press and down to the floor level. Each drop has a volume damper to balance the airflow. The large duct with the register at the bottom is the make-up air.
